The Virtues of Knowledge and the Start of the Academic Year

Sheikh Abdullah Al-Juhany delivered the Friday sermon at Masjid al-Haram, highlighting the immense value of knowledge and education as the new academic year begins. He emphasized that seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim, serving as the foundation for correct worship and righteous deeds. The Imam reminded teachers of their heavy responsibility in nurturing the youth both intellectually and morally, urging them to be positive role models. He also highlighted the crucial role of parents in fostering a love for learning, discipline, and prayer in their children. Quoting the Prophet (ﷺ) (e0), he reminded the congregation that Allah facilitates a path to Paradise for those who tread a path in search of knowledge.
