February 27, 2026
The sermon from Masjid al-Haram emphasized Ramadan as a blessed month of great rewards and spiritual renewal, highlighting its primary purpose: achieving taqwa (righteousness), as stated in Quran 2:183. It described Ramadan as a month of inspiration and continuous positive change, encouraging believers to maximize its benefits through worship, self-purification, and active participation in family and community life. The Khateeb stressed the importance of moderation, balance, and adherence to Islamic values, urging Muslims to engage in acts of generosity, assist the needy, and make abundant supplications, recalling the Prophet's (PBUH) exemplary generosity and Allah's proximity to those who call upon Him (Quran 2:186). The sermon concluded by calling for continuous good deeds, seeking forgiveness, and praying for the acceptance of all acts of worship.
