The sermon emphasizes "birr al-walidayn" (honoring parents) as a supreme act of worship, bringing Allah's mercy, contentment, and forgiveness of sins. Allah links obedience to parents with His own worship and gratitude, highlighting their elevated status, especially during their old age. Good treatment extends even to disbelieving parents, while neglecting them is a major sin leading to deprivation. Honoring parents is a reason for a long life, abundant provision, and answered prayers. This good treatment continues after their death through prayers, charity, fulfilling their wills, and maintaining ties with their loved ones.
