The Virtue of Truthfulness and its Rewards in Islam

Sheikh Bandar Baleelah's sermon emphasized the paramount importance of truthfulness (*sidq*) in Islam, citing the story of Ka'b ibn Malik (RA) from Sahih Bukhari. Ka'b's decision to speak only the truth to the Prophet (PBUH) about his absence from the Battle of Tabuk, despite fearing the consequences, ultimately led to Allah's forgiveness and the revelation of Quranic verses affirming truthfulness. The Sheikh highlighted that *sidq* is a core characteristic of a believer in all their words and actions, leading to inner peace, divine pleasure, and abundant provision, as stated in the Quran (9:119) and the Hadith: "Adhere to truthfulness, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise."
