The power and importance of sincere supplication (du'a) to Allah.

Sheikh Yasir al-Dawsari
Masjid al-Haram, Makkah
May 16, 2025
The sermon emphasizes the profound significance of du'a (supplication) in Islam, highlighting its role as a fundamental act of worship and a direct means of connecting with Allah. It stresses that du'a is the provision for the believer, a key to divine acceptance, and a pathway to success in this life and the Hereafter. The Imam cited Quranic verses and Prophetic traditions to illustrate how du'a repels calamities, grants blessings, and ensures divine support, citing examples from Prophets Nuh, Ibrahim, Yunus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all). He urged believers to ask Allah for all their needs, both big and small, with humility and certainty, reminding them that nothing can avert or grant except Allah, and that du'a is the most effective way to seek His favor. The sermon concluded by emphasizing that du'a's fruit is guaranteed, and its outcome is praiseworthy, as Allah gives one of three things: hastened response, reward in the Hereafter, or averting of evil.
