The sermon highlighted the virtues of leniency (Samaha) and forgiveness in Islam, emphasizing that it is a religion of ease and avoids hardship. Imam Maher al-Mu'aiqly referenced Quranic verses like "Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship" (2:185) and prophetic teachings, including the Hadith "The best of deeds is patience and tolerance." He illustrated these principles with examples of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)'s conduct and the early Muslims, such as Abu Qatada and Uthman ibn Affan, in matters of buying, selling, and debt collection. The sermon urged believers to embody these noble characteristics in their dealings, promising divine mercy and rewards in the hereafter, as Allah loves those who pardon and overlook. It concluded by reminding Muslims that the intelligent person seizes opportunities to acquire virtues like "Samaha," which leads to success in this life and the next.
