Sheikh Abdul Bari Al-Thubayti addressed the congregation on the importance of recreation and wholesome relaxation (الترويح عن النفس) in Islam, highlighting that the faith is one of ease, moderation, and balance. He explained that Islam caters to all dimensions of human nature, offering a balanced approach that nurtures the soul, body, intellect, and family life. Permissible leisure, when pursued with the correct intention, acts as a vital tool to rejuvenate a believer's energy and resolve for acts of worship and worldly responsibilities. Citing Quranic verses on traveling through the earth and enjoying wholesome provisions, the Imam emphasized that recreation must stay within Shariah boundaries and not lead to the neglect of obligatory duties. He warned against the modern pitfalls of excessive screen time and digital distractions, urging the community to seek meaningful and wholesome ways to refresh their minds and spirits.
