The Foundation of Islam: Affirming Allah's Oneness (Tawhid)

Sheikh Abdul Aziz Ale al-Sheikh delivered a sermon on the profound meaning and significance of *La ilaha illallah* (There is no god but Allah), the fundamental principle of Islam. He explained that this declaration is the key to happiness in both this world and the hereafter, serving as the very foundation of creation and the essence of the religion. The phrase *La ilaha* negates all false deities, while *illallah* affirms that only Allah, the sole Creator and Sustainer, is worthy of worship. The Sheikh stressed the necessity of unwavering conviction (*yaqeen*) and sincerity (*ikhlas*) in this belief, warning against any acts of polytheism (*shirk*) that contradict its true meaning, such as invoking others besides Allah for help or sustenance, thereby ensuring entry into Paradise as promised by the Prophet (PBUH).
