Gratitude for Blessings: Food, Security, and Worship

Sheikh Ali Al-Hudhaify
Masjid an-Nabawi, Madinah
August 08, 2025
The sermon highlights the profound blessings of food and security bestowed by Allah, drawing extensively from Surah Quraysh (106). It underscores that these two blessings are fundamental pillars of a dignified human existence, and true gratitude for them necessitates sincere worship and exclusive obedience to Allah alone, the sole Provider and Protector. The Imam illustrates this by recounting the historical transformation of the Arabian Peninsula from a state of disunity, fear, and scarcity to one of unity, security, and abundance through the advent of Islam. The khutbah also addresses the dire situation of Muslims in Palestine, particularly Gaza, who are currently suffering from severe hunger, fear, and deprivation. It calls upon Muslims worldwide to extend their support through official channels, both financially and through fervent prayers, and commends the efforts of the leadership in assisting the oppressed.
